Hello to the world!! I am back from a long slumber of soul searching, moving, couchsurfing and general life upheaval! After a strange transition and sticky divorce, I am up and running in my artistic groove again. The last year was a whirlwind of change from the lost of a dear friend due to cancer to the loss of a 20 year marriage due to.....well....that's a whole other story lol

My wheel is spinning me back to life and I am so grateful to my friends and family that have seen me through. I am uploading new yarn this week in a Wonderland theme. Please stop by my etsy shop to check  out these new beauties!

Has anyone else been through a life change that made their creative drive suddenly turn off? It was the weirdest thing to experience. My mind is usually full of creative thoughts day and night so for it to go suddenly silent was unnerving.
My beautiful children saw it through with me and are not thriving in the artistic communities of N. California.
Stay tuned for more because a sleeping giant has awoken!

Artists amaze me!

I am stunned by the creativity of the artists that purchase my yarn. They make the most beautiful things. Here is a scarf made by the talented LaShell with a textured corespun yarn combined with silk and flowers. It is so feminine and soft. Thank you for sending me this picture!

Spin Within is up and blogging again.

Hey there guys, I am starting to feel better these days and have come back to my blog. Wow was I thrown for a loop the last few months. I had to move to lower altitude here in Colorado due to a bizarre lung infections and some neurological pain nobody can figure out. I feel like it just flattened me for a little while and my life has changed quite a bit. For starters I think I may have to hang up my skates for awhile and try to find an excersise program that is a little less intense. My heart doesn't like me right now it seems. Oh well, I think yoga may fit the bill :)
Right now I am dreaming up some beautiful sweetheart yarns for Valentines Day and will post them soon. I just got a huge batch of lamb's locks that I have to die up this week. I am thinking red and black with skulls, hearts and lace will be pretty.
Something keeps drawing me to orange over and over, but I really want to do a sunflower yarn with little tendrils of silk fabric poking out here and there for "leaves." I tried to make one last year, but it really never manifested the way I had envisioned it. This time it will WORK!

Thanks to everyone that has supported me during these hard months. Luv.

Houston we have a problem.....

Ok I have been informed that it is near to impossible to post or join my blog. SO I am on it to figure out what is up so we can engage in meaningful fiber-filled conversation! In an effort to keep the converstation going, I am going to post a lovely note from an artist in Denmark who recently purchased my very fun Circus yarn. Here goes...

Hi Kim

I love love love your WEIRD yarn! Great to find someone who is just as crazy thinking as I am - just using another material...I immediatly thought of "circus" when I spotted this yarn I just bought. Can't wait to find more yarns of yours on Etsy. Please post here whenever you have news or crazy thoughts about your yarn - I think I'm addicted.... Helle D

Kim Begins To Speak

Erm....ok so here I go into the endless joy of blogging to the universe. I really felt that this moment would be filled with more fanfaire, but instead I find myself in a silent house with tea and a snoring dog at my feet. Yes, my life is WILD! That being said, I am very excited to launch my first and very own art yarn company, Spin Within on Etsy. I am not sure what prompted this leap into the unkown except for the fact that I REALLY need to have a business out of my home these days and fiber arts is one of the things I love most to do. So here I am world, showing you all the random, colorful wildness lurking in my mind most nights. My yarns are weird, yes ok I said it. I just don't make very normal yarn. I have tried, and you may sometimes see an beautiful skein that does NOT look like it is from another planet, but most of the time, they will be colorful, unique and always fun to play with.

Thank you for taking the time. Please shoot back a thought. I am often spinning late in the evening and would love to hear from you.
